ABOUT HIGH NOTE


The High Note Global Initiative, founded by David Clark Cause, honors artists whose work advances human rights and social justice across borders. From education and economic justice to racial and gender equality, climate, and the rights of marginalized communities, musicians have long stood at the forefront of the global human rights movement — and High Note is the first platform to recognize that contribution at institutional scale. In 2027, the Initiative expands beyond music to include film, extending the same global recognition to the storytellers shaping the human rights conversation through cinema.

The High Note Global Initiative honors artists who blend music with the cause of human rights, using their craft as a powerful tool to advocate for social justice across all borders. Musicians occupy a unique role in society; they possess the rare ability to speak truth to power, galvanizing communities toward meaningful change. From education and poverty to gender identity, racism, sexism, ageism, and environmental and personal health, musicians have long stood at the forefront of the global human rights movement, their voices serving as catalysts for justice and transformation worldwide.

Every year, to help promote The High Note Global Initiative, the social justice issue of The High Note Global Prize Recipient and the work of UN Human Rights, a celebrity-driven Cause Flash is launched on the date of the High Note Honors Concert. Each year’s social media campaign consists of the aggregated “Social Media Voices” (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram followers) of prominent individuals and organizations with specific cause messages that instantly reaches the social media feeds of a massive global audience of hundreds of millions of followers and fans. The campaign messaging is meant to amplify The High Note Global Initiative and encourage the public at large to help support the cause. Cause Flash messaging also invites the followers and fans to share the message with their own followers – further amplifying the Cause Flash around the world.
